On-Purpose

Sophia Stanley

Sophia has joined On Purpose following 3 years living overseas in New Zealand where she tried her hands at a number of vocations including dairy farming, landscaping and stand-up comedy. Her professional experience has predominantly been in management consultancy within the public sector, where she has gained the skills needed to help government, business and other agencies deliver effectively for their communities and users. She has enjoyed a wide range of working environments including a start-up consultancy in London, where clients included the Home Office, Youth Justice Board and Probation Service. After this she went on to work within the KPMG Policy, Programme and Evaluation team in Melbourne and the Family Violence Reform team within the Victorian Government.

Sophia is excited to build a community of like-minded individuals during her time on the On Purpose programme and is looking forward to using her professional skills, strengths and experience to work towards goals that are aligned with her personal values. She is passionate about social justice, female and youth empowerment, marginalized communities and sustainability.

Outside of work she is currently volunteering with Cocoon to host a Christmas Day Dinner for care leavers. Sophia studied Politics at the University of Nottingham and has a Masters in Development Studies from Cambridge University. She is excited to fall back in love with London after so many years overseas and spends as much time as possible enjoying the culture, food and friends that the city has to offer.
